What Is Upper Eyelid Surgery?
Upper eyelid surgery, or upper blepharoplasty, is a procedure that removes sagging skin, excess fat, and in some cases a small amount of muscle from the upper eyelid area. The goal is not to create a dramatic or “done” look, but to restore a lighter, more lifted lid and a smoother upper eyelid crease. The incision is carefully placed in the natural eyelid crease and typically becomes barely visible once healed. It’s often chosen by people who:
- Feel they look tired, angry, or older due to hooded or drooping lids
- Struggle with applying makeup due to excess upper lid skin
- Notice changes in their natural eyelid shape or expression over time
- Experience mild vision obstruction from eyelid sagging
